
38TH ANNUAL SPRING VOLKSMARCH AT CRAZY HORSE MEMORIAL
The Crazy Horse Volksmarch is the most popular organized hike in the United States. This bi-annual event covers 10K or 6.2 miles of woodlands terrain in the southern Black Hills of South Dakota. It is a family-friendly event sponsored by the Black Hills Chapter of the American Volksmarch Association (AVA) and hosted by Crazy Horse Memorial. Hikers follow dirt trails and gravel work roads up to the Crazy Horse Mountain Carving. The turn-around point is on the Arm of Crazy Horse directly in front of the nine-story high face, which was completed on June 3, 1998. Hikers get an up-close view of the mountain. Work continues on the rest of what will be the largest sculpture in the world.                                          The tour bus will leave San Antonio May 30, 2024, with an overnight stop in Colorado Springs on the way out and back from Rapid City, SD. The tour bus will return to San Antonio on June 3rd,2024. The approximate cost is $990.00. Double-share double room is $775.00.
